Phlebectomy

What Is Phlebectomy?

Phlebectomy, also known as ambulatory phlebectomy, is a minimally invasive procedure used to remove varicose veins located just under the surface of the skin. It is commonly performed for veins that are too large to respond to other treatments but do not require more extensive surgery.

When and How the Procedure Is Performed

Phlebectomy is typically performed when:

  • Bulging varicose veins are present and causing symptoms
  • Patients experience discomfort, swelling, or cosmetic concerns
  • Veins remain after other treatments such as ablation

During the procedure, small punctures are made in the skin, and the affected veins are gently removed using specialized instruments. Local anesthesia is used to ensure comfort. The incisions are very small and usually do not require stitches. Most patients can walk immediately after the procedure and resume normal activities within a day.

Why This Service Is Important

Removing problematic varicose veins helps relieve symptoms and prevents complications such as inflammation, skin changes, or bleeding. It also improves overall venous circulation in the legs.

Improving Health and Quality of Life

Phlebectomy can significantly reduce pain and improve the appearance of the legs. Patients often notice immediate results with minimal downtime, leading to improved comfort and confidence.
